AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain of the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 when she was selected to represent the team of the nation in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which they came out as runner-up. In the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. She was able to finish 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and score 20 assists in the same calendar year and becoming the sixth the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. Morgan was later named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was selected for both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
